Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 4 September 2026

By using RomanCatholic.co.uk you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What this site is

RomanCatholic.co.uk is a directory of Roman Catholic churches in England, Wales and Scotland — the territorial dioceses, the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, the Bishopric of the Forces, and the Ukrainian and Syro-Malabar eparchies. For each church we publish, where we have it, the address, position, Mass times, contact details, parish website and any live webcam.

It is an independent directory. It is not published by, endorsed by, or affiliated with the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, the Bishops' Conference of Scotland, any diocese, or any parish.

2. Mass times, and how much to rely on them

Always check with the parish before travelling. Mass times change — for holy days, for the seasons, for a funeral, for a priest's illness, for a parish reorganisation — and they change without anyone telling us. Where a time carries a "retrieved" date, that is the date we last read it from the source named on the page; it is not a promise about today.

We take reasonable care to keep listings current and every entry names the source it came from, but we do not warrant that any detail is accurate, complete or up to date, and we are not liable for a wasted journey.

If you find something wrong, please tell us — see section 6.

3. Using the site

You agree not to use the site to harm, disrupt or overload it, not to submit false or misleading information about a church, and not to scrape or systematically copy the directory for republication.

4. Content and intellectual property

The design, code, written descriptions and the compiled directory as a whole are ours. You may look at it, print a page, and link to any page freely. You may not copy the directory or a substantial part of it, or republish it, without our permission.

Some of the underlying material is published by others under open licences and belongs to them, not to us:

  • Map data from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database Licence (ODbL).
  • Postcode, boundary and geographic data from the Office for National Statistics, and heritage descriptions from Historic England, Historic Environment Scotland and Cadw (Crown copyright, Welsh Government), under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
  • Photographs from Geograph and Wikimedia Commons, credited to their photographers under their own licences on each page where they appear.

Each page credits its own sources. Those credits are a condition of the licences: if you reuse material from this site, carry them with it.

5. Links to other sites

The directory links out to parish and diocesan websites, mapping services, heritage records and webcam streams. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability or their practices.

6. Corrections and submissions

If a listing is wrong, or a church is missing, email hello@romancatholic.co.uk. A link to where the correct information is published — a parish newsletter, a diocesan page, a parish website — makes it far quicker to act on, because we do not publish anything we cannot point at a source for.

By sending us information about a church for publication, you confirm it is accurate as far as you know and give us permission to publish it. We may edit or decline a submission, and we may remove any listing.

7. Availability

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw any part of it at any time.

8. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on information published here.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Changes

We may change these terms. Any change takes effect when it is posted on this page, with a new "last updated" date.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland you may also bring proceedings in the Scottish courts.
